Things I've learned recently

1. I'm turning into my Mother. I've been waiting up for Chris to come home at night, just to make sure he comes home OK. For a kid who used to go to bed at midnight on the dot every day, I worry when he doesn't come home til 2 or 3.
2. Working the graveyard shift kinda sucks. It's not all that busy, but I have to friggin do everything. Plus switching from being normal to being nocturnal really takes its toll.
3. Biscuits 'n Gravy and White Russians for breakfast may be the most unhealthy, but most gloriously decadent thing I've ever done. Plus I needed booze after two back to back 12 hour night shifts.
4. Honesty may be the best policy, but it may creep friends out and they may try to avoid you at all costs henceforth. I think it hurt more for me to tell the truth than it did for the corresponding party.
5. My new apathy for shaving and hair styling may add to my creepiness (see above).
6. Avoiding the issue is totally uncool.
7. I think I'm pretty much the best 3rd wheel ever and I reserve the rights to the title for the forseeable future.
8. A glass of wine at night really helps me relax and really makes me feel like a pretentious bastard, which is OK.
9. Just because I'm unhappy here, doesn't mean I have to be unhappy when I move to Chicago.
10. It'll be OK if I don't become a doctor.

I apologize profusely for keeping you up at night. I'll do my best to have the boy home at a decent hour from now on... and thanks for giving him rides through the horrific spectacle that is Green Street at 2am.
