1920-2005

I must admit, I haven't been much of a Catholic lately, but this is really sad news. I met the guy on 3 separate occasions (I even used his toilet). He's one of the few public figures that I have total and uninhibited respect for. I many not agree with all he had to say, but you know, he was out there, even when he was sick trying to brighten the world and make it a better place. The first time I met him, I was about 7 and I wanted to give him a baseball cap because I knew he liked sports. I'm sure he got all sorts of worthless crap from people, but nonetheless, he smiled, thanked me and gave me a hug. I don't know if there's another person around today who could match his love and compassion for everyone around him. Like I said, I haven't been much of a Catholic, but this news is really gonna hit me in a few days.
